Important Race Information


Event Location:

Duke Kahanamoku Beach - Fort DeRussy Beach Park -the beach fronting Fort DeRussy
and Hale Koa Hotel, Honolulu, HI - Kalia Road near Saratoga Avenue.

This is one of the finest beaches on the south side of Oahu. Wide, soft, ultra-white sand beaches with gently lapping waves make it a family favorite. The surf breaks outside of the event site include Threes, Fours & Kaisers.

Directions:

To get to the beach by car, drive down Ala Moana Boulevard towards Diamond Head (east). Take a right onto Kalia Road. You will then pass the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Hale Koa Hotel. After about 100 yards you will see the U.S. Army Museum to the right. Slow down and find parking to your left, across the street from the museum. Fort DeRussy Beach is located behind the U.S. Army Museum.

Eligibility:

Open to men and women at least 18 years of age. (17 & under must have signed parental/guardian form). Race director reserves the right to refuse participation to entrants for any reason. 

Elite class SUP craft must be measured and approved (< 12'6'') before being allowed into the Elite Class craft marshalling area.

Elite Race:

  • Open Men and Wahine categories.
  • Stock SUP boards (<12'6''), no rudders, mono hulled.

Age Group Race:

  • Men and Wahine age-groups 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
  • SUP Surfboard Class - 12' maximum board length
  • SUP Stock Class - 12'6" maximum board length
  • SUP 14' Class - 14' maximum board length
  • SUP Open Class - no length restriction

Distance Race:

  • Men and Wahine age-groups 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
  • SUP Stock Class - 12'6" maximum board length
  • SUP 14' Class - 14' maximum board length
  • SUP Open Class - no length restriction

SUP Surf Relays:

  • OPEN four (4) person teams with at least (1) member female
  • Stock SUP boards (<12'6"), no rudders, mono hulled

Safety:
Ocean safety escorts will be provided for the duration of the race. Any paddler who is having difficulty may be taken out of the water at the race. There will be a medical assistance tent in the main beach area. Hawaiian Water Patrol will be on duty for the duration of the event.
