San Juan Elementary School
Dec. 14, 2023 - Rainbow® Sandals donated to San Juan Elementary School, a dual language Title One school serving about 730 students from preschool to 5th grade, as part of the Capistrano Unified School District. Nestled in front of the San Juan Capistrano Mission, their campus is one of the oldest in our district and has a unique charm. Their students come from diverse backgrounds and are learning in English and Spanish to become bilingual and bi-literate and develop cross-cultural competencies. Additionally, the students participate in weekly PE, music, and STEAM lessons. San Juan Elementary School also supports families with before and after-school care through our collaboration with the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club.
Rainbow® Sandals' donation will support various San Juan Elementary School programs, such as their Positive Behavior Intervention Program, which calls for a student incentive "store" full of high-interest toys. These funds will also support the Annual Musical. This school year, the students will be performing Moana. Other support areas for these funds will be supporting the Outdoor Science School field trip for their 5th-grade students, supplemental safety equipment like additional radios for our staff, other grade-level field trips, and much more!
