"Thank you again for all you did for the village of Kijjude last year. Truly, Rainbow Sandals Foundation's willingness to invest in us was such an incredible surprise, and it gave us confidence and assurance to kick off a project we had never done before. The risk paid off immensely!. When we look back to see all the lives that have been transformed this past year, it is utterly amazing. The kids, moms, and dads are proudly wearing their Rainbow Sandals. It was the first time they had new shoes. Thank you! In addition, we have purchased sewing machines and hired a sewing teacher. Madam Teddy, our sewing teacher, has not only taught these women to sew an excellent product but also mentored them and shown them how to live and love well. The sewing school is doing fabulous, and they are sewing uniforms for the children to get ready to start school on February 6th. Four of the women have earned enough to buy sewing machines so they can provide for their families with their newly learned skills. We began building the school the first week of June, and it is almost finished. This week, they will finish painting and putting up safety rails for the kids. Our 6-room classroom is big and beautiful! I've attached a picture to show you how far it's coming along! We have also built a playground, a fence and 7 toilets for teachers and students. The village is so excited, and we are so proud of the work they have done. Our opening celebration will be on January 30th. I, along with 4 other women, will be traveling in January to help get things ready to open, and we cannot wait. I can confidently say, after all that has been done this year, that the investment is producing an amazing return. This dream is becoming reality, and these children are about to have their whole world open up with quality education. Thank you so much for your previous investment and current consideration."
