‘We were drawn to San Clemente because of its incredible climate and the proximity to the beach. We like to be in the fresh air to entertain, exercise and spend time with family and friends. We are here because we care about our community. We want to make our community even better by providing “extras” for our beaches, parks and recreational programs, and to do this, Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation was formed in 2000.” The group serves as a vehicle to assist the City in meeting its park and recreation goals; To provide a consistent funding source for projects and programs that would otherwise be delayed, might not occur, or would be discontinued due to lack of funding source. President John Dorey thanked the foundation, saying, “The $10,000 donation from Rainbow® Sandals Foundation will be used primarily on Scholarships for kids who can’t afford to pay for their own swim lessons or other after-school programs promoted by the city.” For more information:
