9,990 pounds of organic avocados
Sept. 7, 2022 It was a busy day here at Rainbow® Sandals Foundation (RSF). Today we gave out 9,990 pounds of organic avocados. First, we had Second Harvest Food Bank pick up 219 cases (8,103 pounds) that they will redistribute throughout Orange County with the help of their 350 partners. Next, we went to Mercy Warehouse in Laguna Niguel to drop off 32 cases (1,184 pounds) for their food distribution that takes place 3 times a week. Finally, back in San Clemente, we went to The Boys and Girls Club, which received 8 cases (296 pounds). They will distribute the avocados to the families at the end of the day. Then, RSF went to the local non-profits/thrift stores Joshua House/La Tienda, Casa de Kathy, Assistance League - Bargain Box, and Coral Thrift Store and distributed 11 cases (407 pounds).
