The San Clemente Lifeguard & Junior Guard Foundation
The San Clemente Lifeguard & Junior Guard Foundation is committed to supporting the City’s lifeguard and Junior Guard programs, providing community ocean safety education, and preserving the legacy of San Clemente’s commitment to ocean safety. As part of that mission, the foundation plans to inspire current and future generations by placing a striking bronze sculpture known as “The Rescue” in Parque Del Mar, overlooking the municipal beach and pier. This powerful piece will capture the intensity of an ocean rescue performed by a male and female lifeguard—honoring the bravery, skill, and dedication of those who protect our beaches. It will serve as a central feature of the park, inviting locals and visitors alike to gather, take photos, and celebrate San Clemente’s lifeguarding legacy.
The project recently received a major boost with a generous $50,000 donation from Rainbow Sandals. “Rainbow Sandals’ support has been a game-changer for ‘The Rescue,’” said Greg Hulsizer, President of the San Clemente Lifeguard & Junior Guard Foundation. “Their commitment to our community and to honoring our lifeguards is inspiring and deeply appreciated. They’ve set the bar, and we’re grateful for their leadership in helping us bring this tribute to life.”
